IDOL

The University of Mumbai is one of the oldest and premier universities in India. It was established on 18^th July 1857. It is one among the first three universities in India, including Calcutta and Madras. It has been accredited five star status by NAAC and University with “Potential for Excellence Award” by UGC. It is one among the top 500 universities in the world and 130^th position in Asia.

University started its correspondence education on 24^th March 1971. It was known as “Directorate of Correspondence Courses”. In the year 1985 the Directorate of Correspondence Courses was upgraded as “Directorate of Distance Education”. In the year 1993 the “Directorate of Distance Education” was upgraded as “Institute of Distance Education”. In the academic year 2008-2009 the as “Institute of Distance Education” was upgraded and is now known as “INSTITUTE OF DISTANCE AND OPEN LEARNING” (IDOL)

"Reena Mehta College is an authorized sub center under the University of Mumbai and has conducts various courses under (IDOL). It also has a study Centre for Commerce faculty. In the very first year of operation the college has catered to the needs of approximately 3000 students. Reena Mehta is committed to continue spreading of knowledge and education in every possible way".
